Project Details:

• Two existing prestressed concrete girder bridges with concrete abutments on HP piles and pier caps on columns and spread footings.

• Rehabilitation design:

  • replaced bridge deck and barrier railings.

  • replaced/repaired concrete at abutment diaphragms, pier caps and wingwalls.

  • constructed new approach slabs.

  • replaced existing bearings.

  • reused 24 existing girders and replaced 16 girders due to poor condition.

  • provided new bridge joint seals at abutments.

  • installed new deck drains.

• Four spans of variable length; 47’-10” to 82’-10” for an overall bridge length of 273’.

• Continuous for HS-20 live loading.

• Bridge width of 45’ for two lanes of traffic, each bridge.
