Project Description:
Existing steel girder bridge with concrete pier caps and abutment seats bearing on pipe piles.
Bridge over roadway.
Rehabilitation design:
replaced bridge deck and barrier railings,
replaced steel girders with precast, prestressed concrete girders.
replaced concrete at abutment diaphragms, pier caps and wingwalls,
constructed new approach slabs.
replaced steel rocker bearings with new neoprene bearing pads.
- replaced existing expansion devices with bridge joint seals.
- New 2’ tall prestressed concrete girders were specially designed to avoid having to raise the existing road grade or needing to use steel girders.
Three spans; 41’-6”, 52’-9” and 41’-6” in length for an overall bridge length of 142’.
Continuous for HS-20 live loading.
Bridge width of 82’ for two 12’ lanes of traffic and outside shoulders.
